A rare unicorn became a stanced beast.
Heavy modifications to icons from the past are something we tend to be cautious about. These classics should be in their original form and in the best condition. However, every rule has an exception. In this instance, the exemption is a modified BMW 8 Series.
A new video has been added to the Driving Cody channel of YouTube, which is a great hub for videos of custom cars. It may seem a little too slick at first, but it will soon become a favorite. This is exactly what we experienced when we first saw it in the video.
As you know, the 850Ci was limited to just 1,250 units. The new owner turned one of these rare cars into a widebody monster. He explains that he wanted to build the first widebody, 850Ci worldwide. While we don’t know if this is true, we can admit that the quality of his work is outstanding.
A widebody mod usually includes rubber sealing between the original and new body panels. This car does not have that. The fit and finish of the car are almost factory-quality and all panel gaps look precise and even. Although the interior is almost identical, there are some small adjustments like the cup holders, steering wheel, and red leather that make it stand out.
The transmission is one thing that we would probably change in this car. The 850Ci’s automatic gearbox is the latest five-speed automatic. It was produced in 1996. It’s fine for daily driving. However, when you have an aggressive stance and a motorsport-inspired livery, you need to match them with better performance.
