Widebody Fiat Panda is actually a 300-HP Ford Fiesta Rally Car

It’s a mix, but not boring.

If you didn’t see this coming, raise your hand. M-Sport, a British motorsport company, has created a hybrid. We are not saying that this hatchback has an electric motor. This is because we used this term to describe the surprising marriage of a Fiat Panda and a Ford Fiesta R5.

The Lego-like angular wheels arches that look like a Group B rally car denote that this car isn’t your average Italian city car. It could be argued that it is more Ford than Fiat, since it uses the chassis of the rally-spec Fiesta. This required widening by 360 millimeters (14.1 inch) the shell to accommodate the borrowed bones.

Also, the engine comes from Blue Oval, specifically a turbocharged, 1.5-liter gasoline engine. The EcoBoost four-pot unit is tuned to produce almost 300 horsepower and a generous 332 pound-feet (500 Nm) of torque. The output is sent to both axles via a five speed sequential Sadev transmission.

The cabin has undergone additional changes, including the removal of the rear seats. They were removed to make room for spare wheels as the buyer wanted to participate in rallies on gravel and tarmac. M-Sport christened the Pandamonium. It also includes a FIA-homologated roll-cage and six-point harnesses.

M-Sport claims that more unique vehicles will be developed as the company plans to create a line of custom vehicles. While the Panda-Fiesta R5 love story will continue, The WRC division is finishing up a rally-spec Puma hybrid, which will make its racing debut in 2022.
