Wiesmann will replace V10 by BMW's twin-turbo, V8

The 4.4 liter twin-turbo V8 BMW comes in both MF4 and MF5 models. However, they come in two power configurations: the MF4 has 407 PS (300kW), and the MF5 has 555 PS (408 kW).

Wiesmann confirmed the new power plant for the MF4/MF5 models, as reported.

BMW stopped selling the V10 engine that Wiesmann had been sourcing from them, so the German specialty marque decided on a two-version upgrade of the MF4/MF5 engine options with the 4.4 liter twin-turbo V8.

The MF4 will now be fitted with that direct-injection, twin-scroll/twin-turbo V8 to the tune of 407 PS (300kW). The MF4 can go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds, and the top speed is 291 km/h (181mph).

The MF5 will receive the X5 M or X6 M treatment, with the power plant being increased to 555 PS (408kW). From a standing start, the MF5 can reach 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds. The top speed is 311km/h (193 mph).
