Wild Alfa 155 V6 Ti Race Car Allows You to Live Your DTM Dreams

The iconic Jagermeister livery is on the car.

The 1993 campaign of the Alfa Romeo 155 V6 TI in the Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft (German touring car championship) began. It ended the season as absolute leader. Nicola Larini was the leader in the drivers’ class. The historic victory was made possible by the sedan’s transformation, which featured all-wheel drive to help deliver the 2.5-liter V6’s powerful 420 horsepower (308 milliwatts) to the ground.

Although it was not able to replicate the success of its first season, it quickly became Alfa’s most beloved motorsport model, and you can now own one. A 1995 Jagermeister-liveried model will be up for auction by RM Sotheby’s on February 2.

The Story

For the 1995 season, Alfa gave the car to Euroteam, its Milan satellite team. It then assigned it to Michael Bartels (a former Lotus Team Formula 1 driver). The 155 V6 TI chassis 005 started its career with a sixth place finish in Avus. It also took pole position in Helsinki. This raised hopes for a continuation to the car’s first successful year. The reliability of the Alfa Romeo 155V6 TI was compromised by electronic problems. It finished 10th in general classification, but it was ahead the official team.

The situation got worse in 1996, when the 155 chassis number 0005 was handed to the J.A.S. Bartels was still driving the Motorsport team, which finished the season in 21st.

From that point on, it sat until 2003 when Alpi Racing bought it. Six years later, it was purchased by Piergiorgio Furlanetto, a collector. It was then given to Fabrizio Pandolfi and Lindlmaier Motorsortechnik to restore it to its former glory. The total cost of the restoration was $170,000, which included the engine, chassis, and suspension.
