It could debut in the fall.
According to Spyder7, there is a strange rumor that Lexus will be getting a sports coupe. The vehicle is said to be hybrid powered. This machine’s name is UC, which stands to mean Urban Coupe. This powertrain is a 2.4-liter flat four-cylinder engine from the 86 or BRZ, but with additional electrification via a plug-in hybrid (or mild hybrid assistance). This would give the engine an additional 228 horsepower (170kilowatts) and 184 pound-feet (249newton-meters), 184 pound of torque. According to Spyder7, the UC would ride on a modified version of GR86’s platform. The Toyota’s wheelbase measures 167.9 inches (4.264.66 millimeters), while the Lexus is reportedly closer to 177.2 inches (4.500 millimeters). The Lexus RC currently measures 185 inches (4699 millimeters).
For a more aggressive appearance, the design may also include broader fenders. It may take cues from both the coupe or sedan. The most recent Lexus infotainment software would be found inside the UC. It’s also debuting in the 2022 NX. You could also find better materials than what the GR86 and BRZ have to offer. The Cultural Trend Japanese website gathered the Spyder7 reports and made the claim that the UC would debut in fall 2021. It didn’t cite any source for the date. It sounds fantastic to think of a smaller, more affordable Lexus sports coupe. We must take this speculation with a grain of salt, given the current popularity of crossovers. The RC, LC and LC are slow sellers in the US so adding a third vehicle with two doors doesn’t seem like a good business decision.
