COVID-19 is generating record orders in the sector.
The RV industry is growing rapidly all over the globe, and especially in the United States. The vast array of new products available in this segment can be seen to show the increase in demand. These range from affordable two-person campers to luxurious and high-end motorhomes. Winnebago, one of the biggest RV companies, just celebrated its 600,000.th recreational vehicle. It seems that the 600,000.th will arrive sooner than expected.
Minnesota-based company released its second quarter 2022 earnings reports earlier in the week. It noted that revenue increased by $1.2 billion, or 29 percent, during this period. The manufacturer of RVs stated that it has a backlog of $4.37 billion. This includes all orders received from dealers and generally requested to ship within six months. Orders in the backlog can generally be cancelled or postponed.
With $2.21 billion in motorhomes still to be delivered, the motorhome model family is the biggest contributor. Another $1.87 billion is made by the company’s towable model range, and $278,000. The company’s marine products account for $278,000. Winnebago anticipates that the towable RV backlog will recover quickly, but it can’t say the same for motorized boats and RVs, where supply chain disruptions continue to have a significant negative impact.
The firm’s good news is that revenue increased across the board in the second quarter of fiscal year compared to last year. The firm also saw a significant increase in deliveries, with almost every Winnebago segment reporting a positive change over the previous year. With Class B motorhomes experiencing a 15.6 percent increase, there were 1,786 more towable RVs delivered to customers. There were 54 more motorhomes of all classes.
