It’s not “expensive.”
All Aston Martins have special features, but one has just been made available in the UK: extra. This Vanquish Zagato Volante car is in question. It’s Aston Martin. Check. Vanquish? Check. Drop-top? Check. You are a Zagato Italian stylist? That’s just the bonus.
Although not all cars Zagato has seen have been great, this one is. We can forgive the few.
Although the car looks great, the price tag is quite high. No. It is not. Although a regular Aston Martin Vanquish Volante cost around $280,000, the current one is being sold for PS642,000 (approximately $847,000 at current rates).
It’s not a high price, but it is funny. Please bear with me…
A similar car was sold earlier this year for PS1.13million ($1.48million), almost twice the list price. This grey example is not too far from the original asking price.
Romans International, a high-end dealer in luxury cars, is selling the car. The car has only been driven 259 miles (417 km) and is practically new. The exterior features include a Ceramic Grey finish, black and silver wheels, and a grey fabric roof with red brake callipers. Inside, the car is covered in Obsidian Black leather and Cream Truffle leather.
Although the exterior may not be as impressive as a regular Aston Martin, the powertrain is. That’s not necessarily a bad thing. The same Ford-derived, 6.0-liter V12 is under the hood as in 21 century Aston Martins. This car has 592 horsepower and can reach 60 mph (96 km/h) in 3.7 seconds.
Only 99 Vanquish Zagato Volantes were made, as well as 99 coupes. This makes it an extremely rare car. PS642,000? Perhaps it isn’t so bad after all.
