It’s not the pandemic to blame, but it is what is.
You can’t order a new 2020 Corvette C8 at a Chevy dealer. This is a fact. The coronavirus pandemic has caused production problems that could prevent even previous orders from being fulfilled.
You have two options if you want to own the Corvette’s first mid-engine Corvette. This information was provided by Chevy dude (video embedded at the top) , one of the most trusted (and honest!) Chevy sales agents currently.
Mike, the Chevy Dude says that you’ll need to wait 12-18 months to order a 2021 Corvette C8. This is due to the fact that there are only six weeks of production left for the MY 2021 Vette. Mike estimates it will take around six weeks considering the three week plant shutdowns for Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Year.
That is assuming that production of the 2021 Corvette begins by November 2. Mike disproves this claim in the video below. Although this date is a rumor, Chevy Dude stated that GM has yet to confirm it.
What are you able to expect from the 2021 Corvette? Officially, there will be two new paint options on the list : Silver Flare and Red Mist Metallic Tintcoar. The latter will replace the Long Beach Red option. You will also find body stripes in many colors.
A earlier report stated that the visible carbon-fiber finish will be available for the high-wing as well as the door intake trim. Wireless Apple CarPlay will also be available across the entire range.
Magnetic Selective Ride Control is now available as an option, without the Z51 package. Mike also confirmed this on the video, which is amazing considering that the Corvette will not have a price increase in 2021.
