It seems almost too simple.
If you have been living under a rock the past two years, it’s no surprise that the Bugatti Chriron is a fast car. The 8.0-liter engine’s 1,500 horsepower (1.119 kilowatts), is a clear indication of the four turbochargers as well as 16 cylinders. The Chiron’s performance can be described as almost extraordinary.
Bugatti claims that the Chiron can travel at a speed of 261 mph (420 km/h). This makes acceleration seem effortless. This YouTube video by ArabGT.com is simply stunning. Although the driver does not reach the Chiron’s maximum speed, the speed that he does reach for public roads is astonishingly fast. This also shows how powerful the Chiron is.
The driver takes the Chiron on two high speed runs. The first one sees the driver reach a modest 160 mph (257 km/h), which is a reasonable speed for Chiron. This was his practice run. His second attempt was far more successful than his first and is much faster.
The Chiron accelerates easily, with the speedometer needle speeding past the previous run’s speed. The digital reading beneath the needle jumps in moderate increments up to 325 km/h (202 mph), before the driver releases the gas pedal and slows down the Chiron.
Since its debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2016, the Bugatti Chiron is a significant automotive icon. The Chiron is a benchmark that all others strive to match. Bugatti has combined luxury and performance in a package that is both practical and elegant.
The production of the Chiron is restricted to 500 units. Bugatti delivered 70 hypercars by the end of 2013. There are still 300 orders to fulfill. It doesn’t look like the Chiron will be moving anytime soon, if anything. It should, however, continue to breed worthy competitors.
