However, there are limitations.
March is almost here. The first 2020 Chevrolet Corvettes are on their way to your dealership. However, if you have not yet ordered one, it might be worth waiting to see it in person. The only exception is if you are unable to get to the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The museum will let you drive a C8 around the museum’s 3.2-mile track for $299. There’s more to it.
NCM Motorsports Park can be found right across the street. Museum visitors are welcome to take a tour of the track in a C8 depending on the weather and track availability. Touring laps are not for those who can afford to spend $300 on a car and race around corners. Instead, they follow a pace car around course. There are four laps.
Although speeds are not mentioned, NCM Motorsports Park’s online description of laps does not include helmets or any other safety requirements, such that we believe these laps to be relatively slow. A passenger who is over 14 years old may accompany the driver.
NCM Motorsports Park is able to accommodate those who want something more thrilling in a Corvette. NCM Motorsports Park will host many Corvette Experience events throughout 2020. The first event is scheduled for March 26. Participants will be able to receive instruction in the classroom as well as practice driving on the track for a specified number of laps. Drivers will be accompanied by a pace car to navigate the track, just like the touring laps. The parade laps do not allow passengers. Helmets must be worn with long pants and closed-toed shoes.
Speeds are not mentioned, but we have found that helmets don’t work well if you expect to be moving at a fast pace. It also includes lunch and a tour of the museum. This sounds like an all-day affair. The parade laps are $799 more expensive than this.
The 2020 Chevrolet Corvette is in production. First deliveries to customers are expected to begin next week.
