You Should Watch These Old Luxury Sedans Go Off Road.

Who says that low-slung, posh machines can’t go off-road?

You should now be familiar with UK’s Carwow. This channel is known for its drag racing and off-road battles. More on the latter. Although we’ve seen some strange things from the channel, most of the videos are decent and can teach us a few things.

Carwow is arranging something for pure fun. This off-road battle is between three unlikely competitors given the circumstances. The 2001 BMW 735i and 2000 Lexus LS 430 are the vehicles that will be used for this off-road matchup. These cars are currently selling for around 1,000 pounds or $1,231 at current exchange rates.

You can see that the luxury sedans have not been maintained well over their years. This makes them more suitable for these offroad challenges. Mat Watson, the presenter, stated that you don’t have to spend a lot on a Range Rover. You can spend as little as one grand on an older luxury sedan if your goal is to travel off-road in comfort. It’s pretty sound advice, right?

Watson, despite all the joking, said that there’s no better car for off-roading than the one you don’t care about damaging. That’s fair enough.

The challengers certainly put the old posh sedans through their paces. Some suffered significant damages, but that’s not what they care about anyway.

All three cars were pushed forward by the rear wheels, and all except the Mercedes which has a diesel engine underneath, which car won the off-road challenge. This 16-minute video should provide a brief overview. Please leave your comments below.
