Surprises remain for the 17-year-old coupe.
For those who want to test their vehicle’s top speed, the German Autobahn is the best road. The famous highway allows for unlimited speeds. This gives sports cars and other high-powered vehicles the chance to reach incredible speeds on a public road. This includes a vintage Nissan 350Z from 2004, which was recently filmed on the CarRanger YouTube channel.
This 17-year-old car boasts a remarkable spec sheet. The engine is a 3.5-liter V6 and delivers power to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission. The engine produces 276 horsepower (206 Kilowatts) as well as 268 pound-feet (362 Newton meters) of torque. The video shows the car attempting several 100 to 200-kilometer-per-hour (62 to 124-mile-per-hour) sprints, taking an average of 18.4 seconds to bridge the two speeds. The car also has a speed of 155 mph (250 km/h) on the road.
The video showed how the 350Z performed against other vehicles in the 100-200 kph test. The Ford Mustang completed the task in 11.9 seconds. This is significantly faster than the Nissan. It is 17 years old so it deserves a break.
Nissan has switched from the 350Z and 370Z to the 370Z. However, the Japanese company teased the successor to the 370. We do not know much about the new model, but we do know that it will feature a twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter V6. Although Nissan has not confirmed the model, photos show the Z car with the 3.0-liter engine that powers the Infiniti Q60 Red Sport. The engine produces 400 horsepower (298 kW) in the Infiniti. This may not sound like much, but the new Z should be around 3,300 pounds. It will likely surpass other sport coupes such as the Ford Mustang or Chevy Camaro.
