The company’s first intelligent parking chair, the “Intelligent Parking Chair”, was created by Nissan engineers. The Intelligent Parking Chair, which is inspired by the company’s intelligent park assist technology, can drive underneath a desk and park itself.

Nissan engineers seem to have too many hands, as the company introduced the first “Intelligent Parking Chair” in the world.

The Intelligent Parking Chair takes inspiration from the technology used in company automobiles. It can drive underneath a desk and park itself.

Engineers created a chair base that uses electric motors and wheels specially designed to allow the chair 360 degrees of movement. Four cameras are mounted on the ceiling and the chairs are placed in the room. The cameras create a map of your room, so that the chairs can find a parking space under a desk.

Once everything is set up, employees can simply clap their hands and the chairs will be magically tucked into place regardless of where they are from the desk.

In collaboration with Birdman’s creative team, the Intelligent Parking Chair was developed. This project had two goals: to showcase the technology in Nissan products and show how technology is “enriching lives through technology”.
