Tennessee’s next Z car is getting some attention.
Based on a prior report, there’s a high chance that the Nissan 370Z may be out of stock at US dealerships. However, Z car enthusiasts would know that the next generation is just around the corner.
The Nissan Z Proto has been seen in public. This is a prototype of the next Z car. The sports coupe was spotted at a Cars & Coffee near Nashville, Tennessee. It was also seen on the roads as it traveled to the event.

This video shows what the next Z car will look like on the road. We think it looks great, especially considering its bright yellow paint. Although it was difficult to hear the Z Proto’s engine in the street encounter, it will be audible during a slow crawl as well as while it idles when it reaches its destination. It’s not the first time that we’ve seen Z Proto in metal. While it was first shown to the public in Tokyo last year and we had a firsthand experience with it, we have not seen it or heard about it on the road. We even saw the next Z car in production form, in a spy film that circulated in March.
Now that you’ve seen it, don’t refer to the next Z car as the 400Z. An insider revealed that the new coupe will be known simply as “Z” worldwide. Japan will call it the “Fairlady Z”. The price will be just $35,000, and it will have a twin-turbo V6 engine that produces 400 horses.
The Z car will be available in showrooms by spring 2022.
