The 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQS is the new . Although the flagship EQS was not the first EQ model introduced, it is the first to use the company’s modular architecture to create luxury and executive-class electric vehicles.

Stuttgart’s designers were granted the freedom to design a completely new interior design for the driver and passengers. Although the cabin’s production version differs from the ECS Concept, scroll down to view the many official images.

The new MBUX is the latest in design innovation. It features three large displays underneath a single scratch-resistant screen that covers the entire dashboard. The system uses eight CPU cores and 24 GB RAM. It also has 46.4 GB per minute RAM bandwidth.

Although not visible in the official images of the base model EQS, it will have a different layout if it is not equipped with MBUX Hyperscreen. The transmission tunnel is absent from both models.

Mercedes stated that the EQS can be used with all senses except the MBUX Hyperscreen. The EQS has a High Efficiency Particulate Air filter (HEPA), which cleans and filters outside air. The EQS comes as part of the Air Balance Package and has active fragrancing. This includes a new fragrance, No.6 Mood Lin.

The MBUX Hyperscreen provides haptic perception with force feedback. It works on the passenger and center displays. The touchscreen surfaces also have 12 actuators that can generate a tangible vibration when touched. The materials used in the cabin also excite the senses of touch. Mercedes knows what you can expect.

The eyes are clearly the main focus of the EQS interior design. The entire cabin features a visual play on textures and ambient lighting. According to some, the door panels are a reinterpretation of contemporary living spaces’ interior design. The needles of the digital gauges have a laser sword effect.

The 2022 EQS provides auditory stimulation, which begins before the driver or passengers enter it. Sounds greet them as they approach the vehicle and make their way inside. The vehicle comes standard with the Burmester surround sound system (15 speakers), and Vivid Flux (interior speakers). Driving sounds, which can change depending on driving mode, will be optional.

The EQS can also be paired with soothing sounds like Sounds of the Sea and Forest Glade that can be used during stopovers to promote relaxation. Mercedes wants to help you recharge your body while you charge the EQS.

While charging is not mentioned in the press release, Mercedes previously announced that there would be 500,000 Mercedes Me Charge locations worldwide. This includes over 200,000 in Europe. In the WLTP test, the EQS will have a range exceeding 435 miles (705 kilometers).

The 2022 Mercedes EQS will launch in Europe in August. We will have more information by then. However, we do know that the 2022 Mercedes EQS will be built in tandem with the S Class and Maybach S Class at the Sindelfingen facility.
