Rocket Bunny is available to take things to the next level if you don’t find the new GR 86 aggressive enough.
Pandem Rocket Bunny, a Japanese body kit manufacturer, doesn’t believe in subtlety. For a perfect example, see the exterior parts of the company for the 2022 Toyota GR 86. It is hard to imagine someone who sees these changes and thinks “Yep Rocket Bunny is greatly improving the design of the new 86.”
The new fascia starts at the front and seems to reduce the opening in its center. The canards extend from the lower corners to angled sections at the bottom corners of central inlet, and to the front splitter. One of the most obvious changes is the duct in the top bumper.
The new fascia flows into wider flares that are cut off above the wheel well, which exposes more of your tire. Fasteners are exposed by the wider flares at their back.
Rocket Bunny places a wing at the back with down-turned edges. This piece is beautiful by itself and would look great on the new GR 86. The piece follows the contours perfectly. The modified lower bumper retains the pipes at their original location, but connects the bodywork to the exhaust outlets with tiny pieces.
Below is a video showing additional angles of Rocket Bunny GR 86. It can also be seen in yellow, and glimpses of it in other colors for a better contrast to the black parts. A version is also available in Cusco’s livery.
Later this year , the new GR 86 will be available in the US. Pricing is not yet available. This model is powered by a naturally-aspirated 2.4-liter flat four engine. It produces 228 horsepower (170 megawatts) and 184 pounds-feet (249 Newton-meters). Customers have the option of either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission.
While the platform is the same as the 86’s, the new model has more rigidity thanks to the reinforcements at the front- and rear. To keep curb weight at just over 2,800 lbs (1,270 kg), the hood and fenders made of aluminum.
