Paris Photo Shoot: Bugatti Chiron Sport, and Pur Sport

Bugatti opened its first showroom at the City of Lights.

It seems unfair to lump Bugatti with any other automaker. It is as bespoke and high-end as you can get. The brand is featured in six places on our ” Most Expensive Vehicles In The World” list, with the cheapest being $3 million. It should come as no surprise that Bugatti enthusiasts and potential buyers have the opportunity to experience something few others will. The company took a test drive in the Paris suburbs as part of this event.

Bugatti’s “Passionates” were able to test drive two models, the Chiron Sport as well as the Chiron Pur Sport. The event was held at Vaux-de Cernay Abbey, about 50 km (31 miles) from Paris. It is not an accident that Paris is so close to the company. Bugatti has opened a new showroom in Paris, the City of Lights where Ettore Bugatti founded the brand’s first showroom nearly 100 years ago.

Guy Caquelin (Regional Director Europe, Bugatti) said that after long periods of abstinence, and only digital presentations, enthusiasts of the brand finally have the opportunity to test the two hyper-sport cars. In-person gatherings were restricted by the coronavirus pandemic, which made it difficult for anyone to attend such events. Since its 2016 debut, the Chiron has seen many variations and one-offs. Each variant pushes the brand further.

The Chiron Sport packs the powerful quad-turbocharged W16 engine with a lot of horsepower. However, Bugatti focused on weight reduction and stiffening its suspension. The handling of the hypercar was improved by the Chiron Pur Sport in 2020. Bugatti made several changes to the gearbox, including tightening the ratios and reducing the weight. Bugatti has also limited production of Pur Sport to 60 examples.
