Porsche had already announced the imminent end of the 991.1 model with the Black Edition, and our spy photographers captured the 991.2 prototype camo-free. It looks identical to the previous model at first glance, but closer inspection will reveal that the front and rear bumpers were given minor cosmetic surgery.
New LED daytime running lamps and new graphics are available for the taillight and headlight clusters. The rear lighting clusters are now more compact and have a wraparound design. Meanwhile, the dual exhaust tips are closer together and located near the middle of the rear bumper.
The revised Porsche 911 range is expected to debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September. It will be all-turbo with the exception of 911 GT3 and 911 GT3 RS. The 911 Carrera is expected to be equipped with a 2.5-liter 6-cylinder turbocharged engine, while the Carrera S will have a larger turbo engine of 3.5-liters with more than 407 PS (300kW).
