The GTS also gets an air suspension.
Although we know the refreshed Porsche Macan will be coming soon, we don’t know much about what’s happening. Autocar was able to test drive a prototype, and it revealed a lot about the changes, including increased power for all models.
The base Macan will continue to have a turbocharged 2.0 liter four-cylinder. It will produce 261 horsepower (195kilowatts), and 317 poundfeet (3430 Newton-meters), instead of 248 HP (185 kW) or 273 lbft (370Nm) in the current model.
The Macan S gets a twin-turbo V6 of 2.9-liters making 375 horsepower (280 kW), and 383lb-ft (519Nm), instead of 348hp (356 kW) or 354lb-ft (408 Nm) from the turbocharged 3.0-liter.
The Macan Turbo has been discontinued, but the GTS upgrades have allowed the model to take its place. The twin-turbo, 2.9-liter V6 is equipped with an upgraded ECU. It produces 434 horsepower (324 kW), and 405 lbft (549 Nm). The GTS produces 375 horsepower (280 kW), 383 lbft (519Nm), while the Turbo makes 434 HP (324 kW) & 405 lbft (549Nm).
In Sport Mode, the GTS’s new suspension will allow for a 0.3937 inch (1 centimeter) drop in ride height. The GTS Sport Package adds a torque-vectoring system to move power between the rear wheels.
We already know from spy photos that Porsche has made small changes to the exterior styling. This is not unusual for Porsche. The rear diffuser and front fascia are slightly different. Autocar also noted that new wheels and colors are on the horizon.
There will be more changes to the cabin. Autocar claims that the new digital instrument cluster is now available and that a 10.9-inch infotainment display will replace the 7.0-inch one.
According to reports, the refreshed Macan will debut in July. The GTS’s price will rise due to the upgrades. However, it is expected that it will be less expensive than the Turbo, at least in the UK.
