Officially unveiled at the 2012 Paris Motor Show, the 2013 Honda CR-Z was revealed in Europe.
After a surprising unveiling at Indonesia’s Motor Show, Honda’s 2013 CR-Z is now being displayed in Paris. The hybrid’s facelift is limited to minor exterior and interior modifications. This includes a new front bumper that frames an updated grille. The rear diffuser design has been modified, and the GT model gets 17-inch alloys.
Under the hood, the 1.5-liter gasoline engine has undergone some modifications to its variable valve timing system (EVS) and ECU. This is the most significant change. This change has resulted in a power increase of 114 HP (84kW) to 121HP (89kW). Honda engineers also developed an electric motor system that uses a lithium-ion battery instead of the nickel-metal hybrid. This gives it a power boost of 14 HP (10 kW), to 20 HP (15 Kw).
The combined power output of 2013 Honda CR-Z has been rated at 137 HP (101 kW), 6,600 rpm, and 140 lb-ft (135 Nm). The 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h), now takes 9 seconds (0.7sec faster), and the top speed is 124 mph (220 km/h). It is expected to return 56.5 mpg UK or 47 mpg US, or 5 liters/100 km), and 116g/km CO2 emissions.
