HPD Civic Si Race Car Prototype

The Si prototype race car is undoubtedly the most important news at SEMA. Honda Performance Development starts with a white body and adds the necessary safety equipment like fire suppression and cages to make it a turn-key racecar. The engine gets an ECU tune and has an adjustable suspension with Bilstein dampers and Eibach springs. The prototype shows the track-only racing Si, which will eventually be made available to race teams.

Team Honda Research West Civic Si Race Car

HPD isn’t the only one looking to race the new Civic Si. Team Honda Research offers a variety of powertrain upgrades, including an intake, downpipe and tune for the 1.5-liter turbocharged four cylinder. They also offer additional cooling capacity for oil and coolant. It produces 220 horsepower (164 Kilowatts) and puts power to the ground via a modified suspension. Although the HPD Si prototype is not yet in production, this car will compete in NASA’s 25 Hours of Thunderhill in December.

Team Liquid 2022 Honda Civic Hatchback

Some people are not keen to race in the Si. Team Liquid also adds some aesthetic items from HPD and Honda Genuine Accessories, such as front and rear spoilers, 18 inch wheels, and a roof rack with Thule cargo carrier.

The non-racer Civic Si from HPD adds some spice to the hot hatch. It matches Team Liquid’s offering with similar spoilers and wheels. The exterior’s Si-specific orange shade makes the black accessories pop.

Fifteen52 Project 96 Accord Wagon / Typ R Crate Engine

It’s not surprising that a 1996 Honda Accord stationwagon was found among the sea of Civics. This particular one is unique for many reasons. Not the least, the new Civic TypeRcrate motor that’s hidden under the hood. Although the crate engine was only available to racing teams in limited quantities, the K20C1 high-power engine is now available to everyone. This wagon is still intended for off-highway use. It is race-prepped with an upgraded suspension, brakes and roll cage.

Passport TrailSport Rugged Roads Project 2.0

This rugged Passport caters to the adventurous crowd. A Sparrow XL rooftop tent is mounted on the roof rack. The SUV can also be towed by a modest suspension lift (0.75 inches in the back, 1.5 inches in the front) to allow it to veer off the beaten track. The undercarriage is protected by custom skid plates. This Passport also has a variety of Honda accessories, including fender flares and lower door trim. A trailer hitch with cargo tray and cargo panel protectors is also included.

Ridgeline HPD Trail Tour Project Vehicle

HPD offers a Ridgeline pickup with all the gear you need if overlanding in an SUV is not your thing. Thule offers a bed-mounted rack that can hold a tent, as well as roof bars and cargo baskets that fit atop the truck’s cab. The awning, trailer hitch and skid plates are included. Honda also adds small suspension lifts, extra recovery points and skid plates.
