Infiniti’s Q Inspiration Concept is finally revealed at the North American International Auto Show, after some recent glimpses. This bold look is a sign that Infiniti’s future vehicles will be revealed.
Beauty is subjective. The Q Inspiration Concept is undoubtedly beautiful to behold. The sedan’s front features a unique take on the company’s existing double-arch grille. It incorporates a variety of tightly packed louvers into its center. The sporty look is reflected in the wide intakes at the lower fascia and the tall ones just ahead of the wheels. The headlights are shaped by aggressive slashes, as well as similar cuts on the Hood.
Further back, the styling is more elegant. The flowing roof flows back to the rear, with its thin pillars. The sleek, rounded tail features integrated exhausts and is well-understated. The strip of taillights that runs across the width of the vehicle picks up cues form the sharp-edged headlights.
Infiniti’s interior has a minimalist layout. The interior features a minimalist layout with wide chairs and white leather upholstery. Each passenger is equipped with a tablet to keep them entertained. The floating console is sculptural. It features a mixture of white and black leather with a coral orange accent. A digital display runs the length of the dashboard from the front. The company also installs a large expanse of wood under the dashboard that runs around the doors. Passengers can adjust the cabin lighting section by moving their fingers along the strips of golden washi paper or silk threads at each door’s lower portion.
Q Inspiration Concept will use I nfiniti’s VC-Turbo four-cylinder, which can change its compression at will. According to the company, the mill produces the same output as a V6-powered gas engine but has the same efficiency as a four-cylinder diesel engine.
It is also small, making it a key contributor to the sedan’s design. The engine takes up very little space, so designers can design the vehicle’s hood to be as short as possible and push the A-pillars forward. The Q Inspiration Concept has the exterior footprint and interior space of a sedan, but with the interior of a larger vehicle.
The Q Inspiration is a reference to future Infinitis but the company makes it clear that this model is not for production.
