The 2020 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel continues with the announcement of its fuel economy. The diesel-powered truck can achieve 22 mpg city, 32 highway mpg, and 26 combined mpg. The pickup achieves 21 mpg in the city, 29 highway mpg, and 24 combined mpg for the 4X4. Below is a table showing how these figures compare with other powertrains within the Ram 1500 lineup.

The 2020 Chevrolet Silverado has EPA ratings that it gets 23 mpg in the city, 33 mpg on the highway and 27 mpg together in 4X2 form, while the 4X4 get 23 mpg, 29 mpg Highway, and 25 mpg mixed. The EPA lists several fuel economy ratings for F-150 diesel engines, but is the most efficient two-wheel-drive version. It gets 22 mpg in the city, 30 mpg on the highway, and 25 mpg together. The most fuel efficient diesel F-150 achieves 21 mpg in the city, 28 on the highway and 24 combined.
The EcoDiesel is the most efficient powertrain in Ram 1500’s lineup. It also offers a remarkable range of more than 1,000 miles (1,609 km) using the 33-gallon (124.9 liter) fuel tank. Ram claims that this figure is one of the best in the segment.
The EcoDiesel produces 260 horsepower (194 Kilowatts) as well as 480 pound-feet (651 Nms) of torque. It is powered by an eight-speed auto transmission. This engine allows towing capacities of 12,560 lbs (5,697 kg).
The EcoDiesel engine costs $4,995 and is available on all Ram 1500 models, even the Rebel. The Tradesman Quad Cab, which is two-wheel-drive, costs $38,585 and includes the $1,695 destination charge.
