For 2022, the eyeball-searing TRX will be joined by the Longhorn SouthFork edition and Ram Red edition.
Ram often visits Texas to attend the annual state fair. They also unveil some special edition trucks there. The automaker will unveil three new appearance packages for 1550 pickups in 2021. Longhorn Southfork’s Ram TRX Ignition and the curiously named (Ram), offer various functional and visual enhancements, while still offering familiar, unaltered powertrain options.
2022 Ram 1500 TRX Ignition edition
We’ll begin with the loudest of these trios, both visually and aurally. Its Ignition Orange exterior and bold graphics are the heart of the package, as you can see. You’ll find 18-inch machine wheels on the package, as well as a panoramic roof with spray-in bedliner and TRX Level 2 Equipment Group. This group is standard on all Ignition models. If there’s not enough orange outside there’s plenty inside with contrast stitching or other trim. The orange TRX logo is added to the driver’s display. Only 875 copies will be produced.
2022 Ram 1500 Longhorn SouthFork
The Longhorn SouthFord is a refined Ram model that will appeal to those who want a more luxurious experience. The SouthFork replaces the Limited Longhorn 10th Anniversary model. It features a Mountain Brown interior and suede and leather trim. It features Ram’s multifunction tailgate and a deployable bed step. It also features a spray-in mattressliner, adjustable tie down hooks, LED lighting for bed, and a cargo divider. All-terrain tires are standard.
2022 Ram 1500 (Ram), Red Edition
This badge-edition truck’s name is based on the organization (RED), again in parenthesis. It partners with many brands to strengthen healthcare systems and combat health emergencies. Although there is some irony in this truck’s launch in Texas, Ram, Fiat and Jeep have pledged to donate at least $ 4,000,000 for the cause. The truck’s (Ram) Red Edition receives a special grille, door badges, and a badge on its center console.
The special edition trucks will all be available by the fourth quarter 2021. With a starting MSRP at $61,620, the Longhorn SouthFork truck is the most affordable. The (Ram Red) starts at $63,250 and the TRX Ignition at $91,585. Additional $1,695 destination charges apply to all trucks.
