Reborn Hyundai Grandeur Shows Its Pixelated Headlights On Camera

35 years have passed since the Grandeur was first launched.

Hyundai wowed the automotive industry with its retrotastic concept, loaded with modern technology, a few weeks back. To celebrate the 35th anniversary, the Heritage Series Grandeur was revealed. The amazing show car is featured in a new video, which aims to reveal all its secrets.

The CarSceneKorea YouTube team spent time with the concept in a Hyundai showroom, South Korea. There the electric Grandeur was displayed alongside the similarly awesome Hyundai Pony Electric concept. Although you may not like the idea of a classic vehicle modernized, the work done by Hyundai’s designers cannot be denied.

Although it might seem that there are only minor modifications, closer inspection will reveal Hyundai has made some changes to the grille, wheels and moldings as well as the side-view mirrors. The most noticeable modification is the pair of pixelated front headlights. You can see the same graphic treatment at the back of the taillights.

However, the cabin is where the majority of the changes are made compared to the original vehicle. A large screen dominates the dashboard, which is very similar to modern cars. The center console houses a single-spoke steering column and a vertical screen that controls the infotainment system. The infotainment system is a new feature that’s not yet available on any production Hyundai.

We don’t know the exact powertrain of the Grandeur, but we do know that it is completely electric. We are happy to say that there are rumors Hyundai is actually working on a concept-inspired production vehicle. Although it is possible that the vehicle will be made available in the United States, it is too early to give any concrete facts.
