Redesigned exterior and interior of the refreshed French SUV are also included.
We are pleased to announce that the 2019 Renault Kadjar is now officially available. It has been one of the most photographed vehicles in the past few months. While it doesn’t have a lot of new innovations over its predecessor, there are some significant improvements for the 2019 model year.
The Kadjar retains the C-shaped light signature of Renault’s previous models. However, the LED indicators have been integrated into the LED daytime running strips. Standard reshaped LED fog lamps are available on the higher trim levels. These reduce energy consumption sixfolds compared to traditional halogen units. The design changes include new bumpers and chrome trim.
The biggest improvement to the body was the addition of Renault’s new, 1.3-liter gasoline turbo engine. The motor has a gasoline particulate filter that was developed in collaboration with Daimler. This filters out harmful particles from the exhaust gases. It traps them in a microporous honeycomb structure and regenerates itself at regular intervals. The new TCe unit is available in 140 horsepower (104 kilowatts), 160 hp (112 kW), and either a 6-speed manual or dual-clutch automated.
A selective catalytic reduction system (SCR), has been added to the diesel range. Two diesels will be available for the Kadjar facelift: Blue dCi115 and Blue dCi150, which generate 115 hp (85kW) and 150hp (112kW), respectively. A manual or an EDC auto will be available depending on which engine option is chosen, and in 4×2 or 4×4 configurations.
A few upgrades are also made to the interior of the new Kadjar. The center console has been completely redesigned and now houses a more elegant multimedia touchscreen. Redesigned air conditioning controls are located just below the display. Renault claims that it used high-quality materials to create the new cabin. This includes new door handles and air vent surrounds.
