Richard Hammond opens Classic Car Restoration Shop for a New Show

It will air on Discovery+ later in the year.

Richard Hammond is the co-host of The Grand Tour, an Amazon show. He will be hosting a new series on another streaming service. Hammond will air a new Discovery+ show called Richard Hammond’s Workshop later in the year. This is a working title according to Deathline. In it, Hammond and a father/son team will create a classic car restoration company near Hammond’s home in Herefordshire.

The details of the show are not available at this time, but Hammond will be joined by Neil and Anthony Greenhouse who will manage the garage. They will restore a variety of rare automobiles, barn finds, and Hammond’s eclectic collection of motorcycles and automobiles. Deadline.com reports that Hammond will also explore the history of Jensen Motors.

Hammond’s grandfather worked for Jensen once, giving him the possibility of inheriting some of his craftsmanship skills. We’ll find out if these skills have been passed down through the extensive archive of Hammond’s mechanical missteps captured on camera via Top Gear and The Grand Tour.

This is not Hammond’s first Discovery deal. Last year, he launched Richard Hammond’s BIG! The network. The Grand Tour hosts have expanded beyond their banner title to host various shows in their downtime. James May flew to Japan while Jeremy Clarkson stayed close to home to farm. Both of these are delightful to watch.

Hammond was restoring his Jaguar XK150 for DriveTribe, the trio’s social media venture and YouTube channel. The idea for the show came about. It was a hit with the audience and they demanded more. Hammond and his crew will deliver what they promised. We expect to have more information closer to the air date about the show, which will be aired sometime in the future. Soon, we will find out if Hammond is able to manage a business while working in the trenches with the Greenhouses.
