Rolls-Royce Black Badge Revealed Ahead of October 28 Debut

It looks just like the Ghost.

On October 28, Rolls-Royce will unveil its next model in its Black Badge range. Although the company has not yet released any official information, the teaser photo strongly suggests that the Ghost will be getting stylish updates. Black Badge products account for 27 percent of all Rolls commissions globally.

Rolls hopes to prove it can be hip, by working with Mason London, a non-fungible token creator, artist and illustrator, on a unique animation. Although the company didn’t say so, we can expect to see the art piece in the Black Badge vehicle.

Although the company is trying to make the Black Badge the Rolls-Royce of disruptors, it’s difficult to reconcile that message with the fact that this vehicle costs more than many houses. The automaker claims that Sir Henry Royce and C. S. Rolls were “arch-disruptors”, as they “proved that a car can credibly replace the reliability, frugality, and dependability of a horse or carriage.”

Rolls noted that the vehicles were owned by famous artists like John Lennon and Karl Lagerfeld. Sammy Davis Jr. also owned them.

Rolls-Royce has attracted an unusual breed of visionaries, outliers and iconoclasts. Torsten Muller Otvos, CEO of the company, stated that they are proud to offer these people and women a canvas on which they can project a subversive but confident projection about their success.

Rolls-Royce is often referred to as “subversive”, but this goes beyond the meaning of the word. Rolls-Royce is still a symbol for the upper-class establishment, even if they want things to change.

The introduction of the Ghost in 2009 by the company is a sign of the company’s move to offer less formal vehicles within its product range. It was not just for royalty and industrial titans. The Cullinan later brought the brand to another group of customers.
