ANPR is an acronym for Automatic Number Plate Recognition. It records the car’s license plate and compares it to different databases. The police can begin to pursue the vehicle if the license plate is found to be stolen or uninsured.

Although the added kit may have had an impact on the car’s performance, Skoda claims that the Octavia vRS can sprint to 62 mph (100 km/h), before reaching 154 mph (248km/h), thanks to a 2.0-liter TSI motor rated at 220HP (162 kW). The 184 HP 2.0 TDI version is slower, running the sprint in 8.1 seconds and only able to do 144 mph (223 km/h).
