SSC Reveals Wild Tuatara Aggressor, Striker With Up To 2,200 HP

The Aggressor, on the other hand, is dedicated to track-only power and downforce.

We now have an upgraded version of the Tuatara hypercar just when you thought SSC was ready to settle in for the long haul. What is the best way to upgrade from the 1,750-horsepower (1.305-kilowatt), machine that holds the world record for fastest production car. It’s simple: give it more downforce, and naturally, more horsepower.

SSC achieved this feat using two new Tuatara versions. The Tuatara Striker is focused on aerodynamic enhancements that significantly increase downforce. SSC claims that downforce can be increased by three factors, which results in 1,100 pounds of weight for the whole car at 160 mph.

The package includes a massive rear wing, which works with the Tuatara’s active rear wings as well as a vertical stabilizer. The front is helped by a front splitter, frontal diving place, and directionally vaned sides rockers. SSC claims that the aero upgrades provide an extra push, with 45.4 percent of the front and 54.6 percent back. You’ll also find more carbon fiber and Alcantara inside.

The power for the Tuatara Striker is still at a maximum 1,750 horsepower. The Tuatara Aggressor is here to help. It gets upgraded with 2,200 horsepower (1,641kW) Although the Aggressor gets the aero treatment of the Striker, it is not street legal. This machine is described by SSC as track-only and can be customized infinitely. What does this mean? SSC isn’t really able to provide much detail. However, it does state that the exhaust sound can also be tuned, and you can achieve performance, aesthetic and other experiences “not possible” with the street-specific Tuatara.

Production will be as limited as you would expect. SSC has committed to building 100 standard Tuataras as well as 100 Tuatara Strikers. However, it will only be building 10 Tuatara Aggressors. We don’t have pricing information, but it is highly doubtful that the intended audience is interested in these vehicles.
