Subaru and Hoonigan Reveal Travis Pastrana’s Mean GL Wagon

It’s a wagon

Travis Pastrana took part in a jump at a frozen lake about a month ago. He was driving a Subaru Brat. The American stuntman used a 1984 Brat with a just 73 horsepower (45.4 kilowatts) engine. However, he seems to be in charge of much more power for his new project.

We aren’t sure Pastrana will be participating in Subaru, but it is logical, since he is part the Subaru Rally Team USA. Things look very promising even though the Japanese division has teased “something huge” via its Facebook channel.

Two teaser photos give a glimpse of what appears to be a race car or drift car that the Hoonigan team has prepared. Subaru has done a great job hiding details, although we suspect this is a modified Subaru Brat. The front fascia suggests it is from either the 1987 or 1988 model years, though it is difficult to determine the year.

It doesn’t really matter. We will see that the car we are about to see has very little in common with its original model. However, we could be seeing things that are not there and could have something else underneath. Did you notice the carbon fiber surrounds for your headlights? They look great next to the 80s Subaru grille.

What’s next from Subaru? A Brat drift machine? Oder a modified wagon with roof rack? Your suggestions are welcome in the comments below. You have the mic.
