We have photos and details about the Subaru Impreza WRX facelift 2011. Now with a wider body. Here’s the story.
Subaru will unveil the 2011 Subaru Impreza WRX facelift at the New York Auto Show in March. The STI-inspired elements will be used to create a wider, more spacious body for the remodeled Subaru Impreza WRX.
All-wheel-drive cars have a 1.5 inch increase in front and rear tracks. You can also see large fender flares and a new set 17-inch wheels. These are 1-inch wider than the 17×7 inchers on the 2010 model year car. These changes result in a weight gain of 33 lbs (15 kilograms).
Subaru executive Tom Doll stated that the new wide-body designs are another significant step in the evolution of the WRX, giving driving enthusiasts an even more compelling all wheel drive performance package.
The new wide-body bridges the gap between the WRX and STI models. This design is applicable to both four-door and five-door models. The 2.5-liter four-cylinder Boxer engine that produces 265 horsepower (269 PS/198 kW) was unchanged. It also generates up to 244 ft.lb of torque.
The car also features a new grille and redesigned headlights. Interior is covered in carbon black checkered upholstery with red stitching.
The Subaru Impreza WRX 2011 will be revealed at the New York Auto Show in the first week of April.
