Subaru Wanted to Bring The STI-Tuned 2022 BRZ To Tokyo Auto Salon

These parts make the BRZ look a bit more mean.

Although there was no Tokyo Auto Salon 2021 in that year, the Subaru STI team prepared a tuned BRZ to be used at the event. The crew created a video to showcase the modified machine since the company was unable to display it. These adjustments are similar in nature to what many owners of the BRZ would do to their car.

STI also adds a front splitter to the vehicle and extensions to the sills in front of the rear wheel wells. At the rear, there is an attached carbon-fiber swan neck wings to the deck. These tweaks make the BRZ appear a lot more aggressive and are likely pieces that STI will eventually sell.

The BRZ also receives a set bronze-colored wheels. This is a striking contrast to the rest of the car’s black trim and white body.

STI also installs a cat back exhaust. The muffler is polished and has an exhaust on each side. The tips are large and circular with a similar shiny finish.

The last piece is the flexible draw stiffener in the back. It extends from the bumper to the rear of the vehicle and provides chassis rigidity.

Subaru previously offered other aftermarket parts to the BRZ. These pieces included a rear lip spoiler made of carbon fiber, a front splitter, fender garnish, rear skim, V brace and 18-inch BBS tires.

This fall, the 2022 BRZ will be available in the US. Pricing is not yet available. The engine produces 228 horsepower (170kilowatts) from the naturally-aspirated 2.4-liter four cylinder boxer engine. It also makes 184 pound-feet (249newton-meters). You can choose between a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. The instrument cluster has a 7.0-inch digital display and an infotainment screen measuring 8.0 inches.
