Subaru WRX STI race car revealed at 24 Hours Nurburgring endurance race

Subaru will be showcasing the WRX STI racecar, which was designed for the 24 Hours Nurburgring endurance racing event, at the 2014 Tokyo Auto Salon.

Subaru will be showcasing the WRX STI racecar, which was designed for the 24 Hours Nurburgring endurance racing event, at the 2014 Tokyo Auto Salon.

Subaru has not yet officially shown us the road-going 2014 WRX STI, but they did today introduce its race-spec sibling at Tokyo Auto Salon in Japan. It will be taking part in the 24 Hours Nurburgring endurance racing (19-22 June).

The vehicle will compete in the SP3T category and will be driven by Kouta Sasaki and Toshihiro Yoshida, both from Japan. Hideharu Tatsumi will manage the team. Subaru will make their seventh consecutive appearance in the endurance race. They hope to win again after their 2012 victory in the same SP3T category.

The 2014 Tokyo Auto Salon opens today and closes on Sunday. Next week, the road-legal 2014 Subaru WRX STI is going to be presented at NAIAS Detroit.
