Nick Mason’s La Ferrari is a hit in London.
Nick Mason is the famous drummer for Pink Floyd.
He has an impressive collection that includes a McLaren F1 GTR and a fleet of Ferraris including a Ferrari F40, Enzo and one of only 39 250 GTOs.
A LaFerrari is another prancing horse in Mason’s stable. Mason’s LaFerrari was the only one among the 500 to be completed in Blu Pozzi. We have to wonder why.
Mason loves to show it off, which is a good thing for us. It has been to Carfest for Children In Need several times. Last week, it was at the 2018 London Concours. This event is described as an “automotive party in the middle of the city.” He has also allowed others to drive the car on the track. Mason sat in the passenger seat as Emanuele Pirro, a previous Le Mans winner.
Mason isn’t the only petrolhead in his extended family. His daughter Holly Mason Franchitti races in classic events. While Marino Franchitti, his son-in law, is a professional driver who was among the first to drive the new GT Ford GT program. Franchitti also has a brother, Dario Franchitti (four-time IndyCar champion) and three-time Indy 500 victor. They are both cousins of Paul di Resta (Formula 1 driver).
Mason isn’t the only musician to have a LaFerrari in an uncommon colour. Jay Kay, Jamiroquai’s Jay Kay, has a Kermit The Frog Green LaFerrari. It’s a one-off.
