The new-generation Toyota Land Cruiser has not yet made it to the United States. However, there is still hope for a Toyota full size SUV for North America – the fourth-generation Lexus LX which made its debut this week.
The Lexus LX is more than just a posh version the venerable LC. A new F Sport version and an ultra-luxury VIP trim are being offered for the first time.

The fascia is the only thing that makes the difference. The F Sport trim retains its traditional design elements, including the blacked out meshed spindle grille, and other shiny black accents. Ultra Luxury trim looks futuristic with its chrome horizontalslats. Both have rears that are very similar. However, the tailgate has an LED light bar.
The interior is where there are many differences. The F Sport has the standard red upholstery. Ultra Luxury features a four-seat layout, with the rear seats able to recline to 48 degrees.
You get the same 3.5-liter V6 gasoline engine as the Land Cruiser, regardless of trim. The engine produces 409 horsepower (305kilowatts) as well as 479 pound-feet (649 Newton meters) of torque. This is a 26-hp and 76lb-ft increase over the previous model.
The Lexus LX 2022 will be available to US dealers in the first quarter next year.
