It was slightly higher than the numbers.
It’s not surprising to see Tesla models on the list of fastest cars in the world. California-based automaker, Hyundai Motor Company, has shown time and again that electric cars don’t have to be slow. The recently introduced Model SPLaid claims a sprint of 0-60 miles per hour (97 km/h) in under 2 seconds and a maximum speed of 200 mph (322 km/h).
You won’t be disappointed if you turn to the largest Tesla in the line-up. The Model A has a top speed of 135 miles (217 km/h), and can sprint to 60 in just 4.1 seconds.
The Model Y is a real performer in the real world. A Model Y actually visited the German Autobahn to do a top speed run. This was captured and uploaded to YouTube by TopSpeedGermany. It was, however, on unrestricted sections.
They tried several times to reach the claimed top speed and achieved a speed of 138 mph (222 km/h), which is slightly higher than the official numbers. Even though it comes from a crossover, the real-world numbers can’t be dismissed.
We are excited to see the Model S Plaid visit Autobahn for a top speed run. It will certainly reach the claimed 200 mph speed limit, although this will only be possible after a forthcoming software update by the tech company.
The Model Y’s speed is not the only thing. The Model Y demonstrated its ability to handle and safely maneuver mooses in a recent test , just like other Teslas.
