SpeedKore made this product, featuring Hellcat power as well as a Lambo-sourced transmission.
SpeedKore finally unveils its first ever mid-engined muscle car after years of building amazing custom projects. The so-called Hellacious was built as a street-legal version for Dominic Toretto’s movie car in F9, the ninth installment of Fast & Furious. It is based on a 1968 Dodge Charger and has been modified in almost every way you can imagine. The tuning professionals had to first design and build an engine frame that could house a 6.2-liter V8 Hellcat engine behind the front seats. A custom exhaust system, front-mount Saldana performance radiator and additional high-performance intercoolers at back provide fresh air for the 2.4-liter supercharger are some other important modifications. These and other modifications result in a supercharged V8 engine that produces 707 horsepower (527 Kilowatts) as well as 650 pound-feet (881 Nms) of torque. This power is channeled to rear wheels via a gated manual transaxle, which was sourced from a Lamborghini Gallardo. Brembo’s six-piston front brakes and four-piston back brakes provide stopping power. They are hidden behind huge center-lock 275/35 R18 tires and 345/35 R18 tire rears. A hydraulic hand brake is also available to aid the driver in drifting attempts. SpeedKore’s Hellacious appears almost exactly like Dom’s movie car. It has a widebody with large fender cutouts and a rear hatch that gives you a view of the Hellcat V8 engine bay. Low-back seats provide enough space behind the driver and passenger to enjoy the 6.2-liter engine. There is only one glass panel that separates the engine compartment from the cabin.
Jim Kacmarcik (president and owner of SpeedKore) comments that the Charger is “one of our most extreme builds so far.” We wanted to bring the movie magic to after commissioning Sean Smith, a renowned designer, to design the car. Dennis McCarthy, F9‘s picture vehicles coordinator, built the vehicle bodies and chassis. “Hellacious” is a road-going version the movie car, with all the features of a performance-built car.
