The next-generation Prius looks sportier than its predecessor. It features a more aerodynamic front fascia, a lower hood, angular lower intake, and a prominent Toyota emblem. It also has LED headlights, a sweeping beltline, and five-spoke alloy wheels. The car also features a sportier roofline, and an evolution rear end.
Toyota hasn’t said much about the model recently, but reports suggest that it will feature a hybrid powertrain consisting of a 1.8-liter engine and an electric motor as well as a nickel metal hydride (or lithium-ion) battery. The model will be able to produce 150 PS (110kW) combined.
Although the performance specs of the Prius are not yet confirmed, Toyota executives have confirmed that the vehicle will be equipped with the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA). This means the car will have a more comfortable cabin and “significant refinements in design layout and operation.”
