Mercedes S-Class has been in the market for several years. The company is now preparing for a facelift of their flagship sedan.
The prototype was recently captured while it was being tested. As such, changes to the design are still in the early stages. The prototype has three LED stripes on the headlights and three light points to the sides.
The facelifted model will not only feature new lighting units but also modified bumpers.
The car is equipped with a traditional three-spoke steering column, which allows for bigger changes in the cabin. It is also a new dual display instrument and infotainment center. The buttons between the displays have been eliminated and the car now has a frameless design.
Other changes are not expected, but we can expect an upgrade to the infotainment system and a variety of new wood trim options.
Although engine options are not yet confirmed, they can be expected to transfer. We may see some minor modifications to improve performance and fuel efficiency, but more information will likely be available in the months ahead.
Although it’s not known when the new facelifted S-Class model will be revealed, it is likely to arrive in time for 2017 model year.
