The teasers continue to come.
The production of the 2022 Audi E-Tron GT began in December, before the automaker officially announced it. Over the past few months, the company has teased the model continuously, leaving little to imagination. The car’s world premiere is just around the corner, on February 9, and the automaker has now released another teaser. However, this time, the car is draped in silhouette to obscure the car’s finer design details, which we’ve seen many times before.
The teaser is a typical Audi advertisement, with four rings in the upper left corner and bold text below. It also includes the date of the world premiere. The car is positioned in profile against the distant skyline of a city. Its fastback design, rear bumper haunches and long hood are highlighted. The gallery of images that the company released showed the car in wild livery, and no other details. They also revealed teasers from October.
The E-Tron, a brother to the Porsche Taycan all-electric sedan, debuted in 2019. The Audi will ride on the same platform as the Porsche’s J1 platform. The Audi will be the less expensive of the two. The E-Tron GT’s powertrain details are still unknown. However, the car will offer 637 horsepower (470kilowatts) and 612 pound-feet (830 Nms) of torque. The E-Tron GT will likely have a lower power version and different battery sizes to help reduce costs, similar to the Porsche Taycan.
The production is already underway so deliveries of the new electric sedan are expected to occur soon. Audi will unveil the new electric sedan on Tuesday, February 9th. We’ll also provide a detailed rundown of its specs and performance. Although deliveries are not expected to begin in the US until the second quarter of 2021 it may start rolling out to European customers earlier. We’ll have more teasers and information available on the report, which will be available to you on February 9.
