The RS5 has a biturbo 2.9 liter V6 that produces 444 horsepower (331 kilowatts), and 443 pound feet (600 Newton-meters). An eight-speed automatic is the only available gearbox. An all-wheel drive system routes power through the wheels. It sends 60% of the power to rear, but can also put 85 percent back there if needed. The rear axle of a torque-vectoring sports differential helps to traction the tail.
There are eight color options for the RS5: Nardo Gray is available in the only cost-free option. Mythos Black is available in five colors: Glacier White (Navarra Blue), Glacier White (Florett Silver), Sonoma Green, Daytona Gray and Misano Red) for $575. Audi Exclusive has custom colors available for $3,900 if you prefer a different color. Standard wheels are 19-inch and 10-spoke. There are also 20-inch wheels with five trapezoidal spokes that cost $1,500, and a 20-inch version with five for $2,500.
The RS5 is equipped with sport seats and the upholstery is a mixture of leather and Alcantara. You can choose from honeycomb quilting with gray or red stitching for $1,500.
Audi mainly collects the RS5’s options in a variety packages. Many of these packages boost the model’s performance. The Dynamic Package, which costs $3,350, adds red brakes calipers, three mode adaptive dampers and a sports exhaust. The Dynamic Plus Package adds a larger ceramic front brake and carbon fiber engine cover for $6,000 more. Dynamic steering is one of the few upgrades that you can make. It allows you to adjust the steering ratio depending upon the speed.
Buyers who want more tech options can purchase the $6,000 Driver Assistance Package. It includes features such as adaptive cruise control and lane keeping aid, lane keeping assistance, traffic sign recognition, automatic high beams, lane keeping assist, lane keep assist, traffic sign recognition, head-up display and a top-view camera system. The Audi Virtual Cockpit digital instrument screen and 8.3-inch infotainment display are added to the $3,300 Navigation package. A Bang & Olufsen stereo goes for $950.
RS5 customers may also want extra style. Black Optic Package, $1,150, adds body color side mirrors, high gloss black trim and 20-inch trapezoidal 5-spoke wheels.
