The design boss at Nissan was very clear about the look of Godzilla’s next generation. It won’t be like this.
Although the GTR is a great car, there will be a point in its life that it’s no longer a top-quality vehicle. Our Motor1 Italy friends created a rendering of the next-generation Godzilla. But, Alfonso Albaisa (Hyperlink to Nissan Senior Vice- President for Global Design) has stated that The next GT-R will not be Italdesigns GT-R50, the car this rendering is based on.
It’s still possible to play with a GT-R50 as a production-ready GT-R. It’s quite possible. The huge grille opening cools the V6 under the bonnet. While the narrow headlights connecting to the intakes look sharp and fierce, it’s also something the Lexus LC500 might look like if they decide to undress their sultry curves.
This rendering may not be made into production, however there are many rumors about the GT-R’s future. According to Jean-Pierre Diernaz, Nissan’s marketing chief, the new GT-R will have an electrified engine. The Japanese marque is going to electrify, which may also include niche offerings such as the GT-R or 370Z.
We also know that the GT-R will be shown in a concept and that Albaisa’s team is still working on its design. The engineers are still working on the platform specifications and engine details, so the design chief can’t move forward with final sketches. One thing is certain: Nissan wants the GT-R the fastest super-sports car in the world .
