This seems like an obvious choice.
This is not a US-market RAM, and there aren’t any similar products for stateside buyers. We know that we are not the only ones wondering why this is. Ram could be left behind by smaller pickup trucks as the US market changes.
This rendering is unofficial and comes from KDesign at Behance. It’s based upon the newly revealed 2022 Fiat Toro. To create the Ram 1000 Rebel, this depiction uses a Ram-themed grille with Ram badges. This modest redesign is as simple as it gets in the automotive world, with the Toro already being known in certain markets as the Ram 1000. The Toro is a great competitor, being only a fraction of the new Hyundai Santa Cruz. It would be a great competitor to the upcoming Ford Maverick. And, honestly, this little Ram has a cool design.
Stellantis seems to be content to keep its small truck out of the hands of American buyers. Ram Classic is the reason we think this all happened. At a lower price, the previous-generation Ram 1500 can still be purchased alongside the full-size truck. This pickup fills the same financial gap as a smaller truck. This pickup fills the same financial gap as a smaller truck. However, buyers looking for a small pickup could find a Ram 1000 to be difficult to sell as long as there is a comparable-price Ram Classic. The old truck will remain in Ram’s lineup at least another year.
We suspect that Stellantis executives are closely watching the Hyundai Santa Cruz Hyundai Maverick and Ford Maverick. These compact unibody trucks should be well received by American buyers. If so, then it shouldn’t take long to add the Fiat Toro / Ram 1000 to the mix. Truck enthusiasts in America should find the next twelve months very interesting.
