The new supercar is beginning to take shape.
Lamborghini revealed earlier this week that the Countach title is returning. The supercar was teased by hiding under a sheet. Three new teaser images have been posted by the Italian automaker on Instagram. They give us a glimpse of the car’s design. These images show a few sliver of the supercar’s design, revealing that it will feature retro styling cues.
These teasers reveal a lot without showing much about the car. One image shows the car’s sharp front with the lowercase Countach badge at the slim grille. The photo shows a large lower opening and deep front splitter. The second teaser photo allows us to see into the engine bay of the V12 engine with gold-accented. Although it is not clear if Lamborghini will offer electric assist, the possibility exists. The V12 will be replaced by a hybrid.
The last image shows the most Countach-like styling feature that we have seen so far – an engine air intake located behind the passenger compartment. The intake’s rectangular shape is almost identical to that of the original supercar. Just ahead of the intake is a black fuel filler cap. These teasers are the first to actually show us the car. They look promising and confirm the wedge-shaped design mentioned in the teaser image.
Lamborghini has yet to announce when the new Countach will be revealed. The company posted an Instagram message stating that we should “stay tuned” to learn more about the new supercar. However, it doesn’t tell us when. It’s not clear if this supercar is an entirely new model or if it’s a limited edition. However, the 2021 Pebble beach Concours d’Elegance in February would be a good place to unveil such a car. We hope that we don’t have too much time to wait.
