Frank Laza, owner of Central Coast Electric Boats, and the main behind this project, says that “in all the years we have been doing this at Harbor, we haven’t owned a boat of any kind.” “We have owned and sold boats. It’s our business. We decided to keep the project going when it came up.

Laza and his wife spent approximately one year transforming the electric boat into a VW Bus boat. Other cool features that he added were an original VW Bus steering wheel, knobs, 12-color underwater light system, and custom license plates. Laza purchased the sunken boat from Malibou Lake and restored it with new powertrain, upholstery and dashboard.
