This is the 45 special edition, which was revealed in a nod towards the original Golf GTI. Under the hood, it has a turbocharged 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with 296 horsepower (221 megawatts). The hatchback is 3,146 pounds and weighs 1,427 kilograms.
The Golf R features a more powerful version (320 HP/235 kW) of the same four-cylinder unit. This power sends power to all four wheels. The increased traction is at the expense of 256 pounds (116kg) more weight than the FWD model. The Golf R is the performance flagship of Golf’s family. It has better traction and more power.
