When disaster strikes, there is nothing you can do.
An earthquake occurred on March 11, 2011 at 43 miles east from the Oshika Peninsula in Tohoku. It is often called the Great East Japan Erdquake. The tsunami caused massive nuclear meltdowns at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant, Okuma, Fukushima Prefecture. International Nuclear Event Scale gave the nuclear accident a Level 7 classification.
Residents within 12 miles of the power plant were forced to evacuate, as well as car dealerships. This is one of the dealerships, which can be seen here in an abandoned Fukushima Prefecture.
These cars were photographed by Obsidian Ubex Photography. They have been abandoned for a long time, and their condition has remained unchanged since the owners moved out. Surprisingly, many of these cars are American.
The most notable is the 1962 Chevrolet Impala SSS in tangerine orange. It is also accompanied by a black Lincoln Towncar. The owner of the photos claims that a 2006 Toyota Tundra, and a 1989 Nissan 240SX, are also nearby. However, they were not included in the set. Two Cadillac cars are also visible in front of the garage door. One is a 1990s Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham and the other is Connessieur limousine.
However, not all abandoned cars were American. A Japanese hearse is a traditional Japanese-style hearingse with ornaments. Obsidian Urbex says that this hearse resembles a Buddhist temple. It has decorations called Hoo (Feng Huang) – which is an Asian bird roughly equivalent to a Phoenix in Greek mythology.
Although vegetation has grown around these cars, it’s still amazing to see how time has captured their essence. These machines are still beautiful and we hope they find a safe home.
