Combining vehicles from Bugatti, Ferrari and Mercedes has created some truly unique combinations.
Many interesting combinations of automotive components can produce some amazing results. For example, the El Camino was a classic combination of a pickup and a car. CarWow has some very creative ideas that can challenge even the El Camino. To create the renderings, Dodge, Bugatti and Volkswagen were paired with some unusual partners.
Imagine taking the Bugatti CHiron apart and reducing it to its frame. It wouldn’t look exactly the rendering here, but that’s what artists did when they mash up the Ariel Nomad and the multimillion-dollar hypercar. The Chiron’s wheels and headlights, as well as the grille, have been preserved, but the doors have been replaced by Ariel’s signature, skeletal bodywork.
Audi’s S1 hatchback is a punchy little car. The 231-hp engine, 5.8 second 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h), and 5.8 seconds are well above the typical hot hatch. What if the R8S1 had a V10 engine? The R8S1 designers have answered that question visually by combining the hot hatch with R8 levels performance and design.
This Audi RS 7 and Alfa Romeo 4C mashup was the result of serious wishful thinking. Alfa design elements are now incorporated into the refined performance of the 560-horsepower RS 7. It is a sensible German sedan that has a hint of Italian flair.
A people-mover has never looked so aggressive since the Renault Espace F1’s legendary design. The BMW Active Tourer MPV gets an upgrade worthy of the circuit, thanks to the bodywork from a 3.0 CSL.
Some Dodge loyals say, “Hellcat all of the things.” Artists have digitally stuffed the Hellcat V8 supercharged to 6.2-liters under the hood, which is normally the Jeep Renegade. A lower stance, larger wheels, and a hood scoop large enough to swallow a small child have been added to ensure that all that power is properly used.
Ferrari, Fiat and Fiat may have a single owner in FCA. However, this doesn’t mean that the LaFerrari Aptera or 124 Spider don’t share many similarities. We are fortunate (or unfortunate) that the designer of this concept believes they should. LaFiat 124 Aptera combines both to create a polarizing supercar with an open top.
SUV, meet supercar; supercar, meet SUV. Lamborghini doesn’t have the rugged LM002 on sale since the early ’90s. However, it’s still fun and exciting to imagine it with Centenario supercar wheels.
This mashup between an Aston Martin DB11and a Land Rover Defender is pretty amazing, even if you don’t like wordplay. Imagine two iconic British marques teaming up to create an off-road sports car. The idea may not be perfect due to the unusual body lines, but it is there.
The Mercedes AMG G63 6×6 SUV is a very simple vehicle to introduce. It raises questions when you add that to the AMG GT R’s supercar body. The majority of the components from the 6×6 standard still exist – wheels and lights, fenders, etc. – but the AMG GT R’s body allows them to fit together more easily.
What happens when you combine a muscle car and an electric sedan that is performance-oriented? Well, this… hypothetically. The Model 350R is a combination of the Shelby GT350, and Tesla Model 3. Although it shares its front end with Mustang, the Model 350R’s body is largely reminiscent of the Model 3.
This one isn’t the most unlikely of all the crazy ideas on the list. Volkswagen created the Dune Buggy in 1960, much to the delight of Southern Californians. They recently introduced a special edition Beetle Dune to pay homage to this heritage. Perhaps the company should go all-out with a new Golf-based Buggy.
