This sounds like so much fun.
Radio controlled cars are very cool. It’s cool to stage rally. These videos were created using a slow-motion camera capable of capturing 1,000 frames per second. It’s difficult to identify these machines apart from the large flowers and occasional foot, This is not the first time we’ve seen it.
We featured another video last year from this Facebook page This video shows one of the many rally courses that the group has. The Safari Cup RC Rally Champion is based in Czech Republic. They hold several events throughout the year on various tracks. This footage comes from Rally Venezia, their most recent event. It was shot using a camera phone with super slow motion. This is a remarkable feat in and of itself, not to mention the amazing quality of the electric rally cars (1/10 scale) and the realistic setting with sponsor banners at the corners.
This radio-controlled sport is not only amazing for its realism, but also because of the incredible atmosphere. Typically, RC events have drivers standing on elevated platforms while guiding their car around a course. Because of the complexity and size of the Safari Cup stages, this is impossible. Instead, the drivers run alongside the cars, skipping across the track, trying to establish a fast stage time. We both love and respect the athletic side of this otherwise boring activity.
According to the group’s schedule the next event will be the Daros Rally which takes place on May 11. This would be an incredible spectacle to see – maybe it’s time for a Safari Cup RC rally champion in the States. Are you with us?
